After two years of unprecedented challenge and loss of life, the focus on COVID-19 has sidelined the management of other lethal diseases like hypertension, diabetes and many cancers. Recent reports indicate that screening for our most common and fatal cancers are down dramatically. With mortality statistics already disproportionately higher in the African American community, the St. Louis (MO) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has adopted the Health Equity as our new umbrella program. Our chapter is committed to implementing strategies that will improve health outcomes for our region and promoting breast health is our anchor program.
We welcome you to our website to learn more about the Breast Health Equity Initiative, an educational program focusing on early detection, mammography screening and prevention. We hope to partner with you as we develop programs to support health and wellness throughout our region.
Yours in service,
Kay Royster, Ed.D.
