My Sister's Keeper at Tell Me Something Good   LinksRep-(32 of 34)

On September 20, 2015 the St. Louis (MO) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated hosted an evening of the Arts for a group of 26 high school and college students from My Sister’s Keeper. The students were entertained by The Black Rep in the production of, “Tell Me Somethin’ Good” at the Edison Theatre on the campus of Washington University.  Several of the students anticipated a play; however, they were quite pleased with the musical, which reminded them of the music their parents grew up with.  Following the production, students were met with a reception of hors d’oeuvres and fresh lemonade as they discussed the musical with members of The Links.  This is the first of several mentoring opportunities scheduled this year to introduce the Arts to My Sister’s Keeper participants.

My Sister’s Keeper is a mentorship program in its 7th year, developed by the Chapter to expose African-American female students to non-academic experiences, as well as college and career readiness skills necessary for success in both high school and college.
